Job summary

Cottrell Tax & Accounting, LLC in Naples, FL, seeks an experienced tax/accounting professional to prepare client books, individual and small business tax returns. Requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience and strong QuickBooks skills with UltraTax knowledge preferred.

The role includes payroll processing, gathering client information, and delivering high-quality service. Office hours are 9–5, Monday–Friday, with tax-season overtime and bonuses tied to performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience in tax/accounting required.
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks is a must.
• Working knowledge of UltraTax is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Take client information, bank statements, and other docs to prepare financials (monthly or annually).
• Process payroll and simple tax forms (941, RT-6, 940, W-2s).
• Prepare individual tax returns and business tax returns (1120-S).
• Collaborate with clients to obtain missing information.

Applicant must be able to prepare client's books, individual tax returns, and small business tax returns.

Must have a minimum of 3 years experience. Strong knowledge of QB is a must, working knowledge of Ultra Tax is helpful.

Candidate must be driven, highly organized, and a team player. Must also be comfortable sitting in front of clients and be able to communicate back and forth via email and phone.

Responsibilities:

• Take client's information, bank statements, credit cards, etc. and create a set of financials (Monthly or Annually)
• Knowledgeable in payroll and able to complete simple after the fact 941, RT-6, 940, & W-2s
• Prepare individual tax returns
• Prepare business tax returns, mostly 1120-S
• Work with client to gather missing information

Pay is competitive and based on experience. Two additional bonuses are given every year based on individual and business performance. Willing to give commission for current clients that are brought to the firm.

Office hours are 9-5 pm, M-F; overtime during tax season is required.
