You will gather client tax documents, perform bank reconciliations, and prepare financial statements. Strong communication, organization, and deadline management are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting or related field required or preferred.
• 1–3+ years tax prep, bookkeeping or public accounting experience.
• Experience preparing individual and business tax returns; strong software knowledge.

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Preparer / Accounting Associate to join our growing public accounting firm. This position focuses on preparing individual and business tax returns while providing bookkeeping and accounting support for a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120-S, 1041, and 990.
• Gather, organize, and verify client tax documentation.
• Perform bookkeeping, general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and journal entries using QuickBooks.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding tax information and filings.
• Assist with tax planning, estimated taxes, and year‑end preparation.
• Research basic tax issues and ensure compliance.
• Respond to IRS and state tax notices.
• Manage multiple client deadlines.
• Support accountants and CPAs with additional projects.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 1–3+ years of tax preparation, bookkeeping, or public accounting experience preferred.
