Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks a Tax Manager to lead and grow its integrated tax practice within a wealth management environment. This high-visibility leadership role offers ownership of the practice and direct partnership with wealth advisors on sophisticated tax and financial planning strategies.

The ideal candidate has CPA or EA credentials, 7+ years of progressive tax experience, and a proven ability to mentor tax professionals while driving cross-functional tax planning for high-net-worth

Qualifications

• CPA or EA required.
• 7+ years of progressive tax experience, including return review.
• Experience managing, mentoring, or supervising tax professionals.
• Strong technical knowledge across individual, fiduciary, partnership, and corporate taxation.
• Experience with high-net-worth tax planning preferred.
• RIA or wealth management experience a plus.
• Experience with Lacerte, TaxDome, SurePrep, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day tax practice, overseeing quality, workflow, deadlines, and client service.
• Review individual, fiduciary, partnership, corporate, and exempt organization tax returns.
• Serve as a technical resource on complex tax matters and manage IRS/state correspondence and examinations.
• Manage client relationships and identify tax planning opportunities for high-net-worth individuals, business owners, trusts, and multigenerational families.
• Partner closely with wealth advisors to integrate tax strategies into broader financial and wealth planning.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop tax professionals while supporting hiring and team growth.
• Improve tax processes, technology, and workflows while maintaining compliance with evolving tax regulations.
