Job summary

Vaco by Highspring, a growing independent wealth management firm, seeks a Senior Tax Associate to join its integrated tax advisory practice. This role sits at the intersection of tax compliance and holistic financial planning, working closely with clients and wealth advisors with a clear path toward future leadership.

The candidate will prepare and review federal and state tax returns, collaborate on planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals and business owners, and contribute to a team

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns.
• CPA or EA preferred.
• Experience with tax planning and wealth management coordination.
• Strong client-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
• RIA or wealth management experience preferred.
• Proficiency with tax software such as Lacerte, TaxDome, or SurePrep, as well as QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, corporations, and exempt organizations.
• Prepare estimated tax payments and respond to IRS and state tax correspondence.
• Work closely with wealth advisors to develop and implement tax planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and multigenerational families.
• Communicate directly with clients and provide high-quality, responsive tax service throughout the engagement.
• Stay current on tax law and proactively identify planning opportunities.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment with opportunities to mentor others and grow into a supervisory role.
