Green Lion Search Group is recruiting a Tax Partner for a national public accounting firm expanding its San Antonio practice. This opportunity targets a tax leader with broad experience advising businesses and their owners.

The role welcomes established partners or experienced managing directors ready to step into a partner position, with a preference for backgrounds from Big Four, Grant Thornton, or RSM. Local candidates and relocation are welcome.

Qualifications

• Substantial public accounting tax experience at the MD/partner level.
• Experience at Big Four, Grant Thornton or RSM preferred.
• Broad knowledge of business taxation and owner-level considerations.
• Ability to advise business owners and senior finance leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax compliance, planning and advisory engagements across a diverse client portfolio.
• Advise closely held businesses and owners on entity structure and tax planning.
• Oversee partnerships, S corporations, C corporations and related individuals' tax matters.
• Coordinate specialist support for state/local, international, or transactional tax issues.
• Develop client and referral relationships to grow the practice.

The Opportunity

• An initial client portfolio to build upon as you grow the practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax compliance, planning and advisory engagements across a varied business client portfolio.
• Advise closely held businesses and owners on entity structure, operating decisions and tax planning.
• Oversee work involving partnerships, S corporations, corporations and related individual tax matters.
• Coordinate specialist support for complex state and local, international or transaction-related issues.
• Develop client and referral relationships to support practice growth.
• Mentor tax professionals and manage engagement quality, staffing and financial performance.

Ideal Background

• Current managing director or partner with substantial public accounting tax experience.
• Experience at a Big Four firm, Grant Thornton or RSM.
• Broad technical knowledge across business taxation, pass-through entities and owner-level tax considerations.
• Ability to serve as a primary advisor to business owners and senior finance leaders.
• Demonstrated strength in client development, team leadership and managing a diverse portfolio.
