Job summary

Accudata & Co. is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead tax engagements in San Diego, CA. You will mentor staff, manage client relationships, and develop tax strategies to minimize liabilities.

This onsite role transitions to hybrid after onboarding, with a focus on delivering high-quality tax services to a diverse client base. The ideal candidate holds a CPA, has 5+ years in public accounting focused on tax, and is skilled in federal and multi-state compliance and planning.

Qualifications

• CPA license is required and active.
• 5+ years in public accounting with a tax focus.
• Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax compliance and planning.
• Experience managing client engagements and supervising staff.
• Proficiency with tax software such as UltraTax or ProSystem fx.

Responsibilities

• Manage and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize client tax liabilities.
• Oversee and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a primary point of contact.
• Research complex tax issues and communicate findings to clients and leadership.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact on clients and firm processes.
• Assist with IRS and state tax notices, audits, and correspondence.
