CyberCoders is seeking a Tax Manager - Public Accounting to own complex client portfolios, shape tax strategy, and collaborate with firm partners from day one.
You will review federal and state returns across corporate, partnership, fiduciary, trust, gift, and high-net-worth engagements, manage client relationships, respond to IRS notices, and lead tax research. This role also mentors teams and supports business development in a hybrid NJ/PA environment.
Tax Manager - Public Accounting
Step into a high-visibility leadership role at an established accounting and advisory practice where you will own complex client portfolios, shape tax strategy across entity types, and sit at the table with firm partners from day one.
What you'll do
Review and sign off on complex federal and state tax returns across corporate, partnership, fiduciary, trust, gift, and high-net-worth individual engagements
Own client relationships end-to-end, delivering proactive year-round tax planning that goes well beyond annual compliance
Respond to and resolve IRS and state tax authority notices, representing client interests with confidence
Conduct technical tax research and document well-supported conclusions that guide both clients and internal teams
Lead, mentor, and evaluate engagement teams of supervisors, senior associates, and staff - giving feedback that accelerates careers
Partner with firm leadership on business development proposals and targeted relationship expansion
Monitor engagement timelines, budgets, and workflow capacity to keep every project on track
What you need
7+ years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting firm
Active CPA license
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent client engagements independently
Working proficiency with paperless tax workflows and platforms such as CCH ProSystem fx Engagement, QuickBooks, and Excel
Nice to have
Experience supervising multi-level teams (supervisors, seniors, staff)
Background in strategic tax advisory beyond compliance
Interest in community networking and firm business development events

Base salary: $120,000-$160,000 per year, commensurate with experience
