Job summary

Aprio is seeking a Tax Manager for its Private Client Tax team. You will lead a team of tax professionals, develop strategies, and provide consulting on M&A, tax planning, and restructuring. You will also prepare and review returns, while communicating with clients and tax authorities to ensure compliant, proactive service.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive federal tax experience, and a willingness to work in a hybrid environment within a top CPA firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master’s in Accounting/Taxation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of tax professionals; delegate tasks and oversee work.
• Develop and implement tax strategies; stay up-to-date with laws and regulations.
• Provide consulting on mergers, acquisitions, tax planning, and corporate restructuring.
• Conduct tax research to identify planning opportunities.
• Prepare and review tax returns for clients; ensure compliance.
• Communicate with clients and regulators to manage tax matters.
• Manage client relationships and ensure satisfaction.
• Train and mentor team members.

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Responsible for managing and leading a team of tax professionals, delegating tasks and responsibilities, and overseeing the work of your team members.
• Developing and implementing tax strategies. This will involve staying up-to-date with changing tax laws and regulations and identifying opportunities for tax planning.
• Providing consulting services to clients on various tax-related issues such as mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, and corporate restructuring.
• Conduct tax research to stay up-to-date with changing tax laws and regulations and identify opportunities for tax planning.
• Responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns for clients, ensuring that they comply with relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Responsible for communicating with clients and stakeholders, including tax authorities and other regulatory bodies, to ensure that all tax-related matters are handled effectively and efficiently.
• Manage client relationships and ensure that clients are satisfied with the services provided by your team.
• Training and mentoring team members
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred
• Recent experience working in a public accounting firm
• 6+ experience years of federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in accounting
• CPA is preferred
• Experience preparing Individual, Partnership, S Corporation, and Trust tax returns.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology
• Experience managing a team
• Willing to work hybrid
