Job summary

H. T. PROF Group in California is seeking a Tax Manager to oversee the preparation and review of tax returns for SEC and closely held clients. The role leads a team, ensures accuracy and timeliness, and participates in tax planning with senior staff.

Qualified candidates have 5–7 years in public accounting, a CPA license, and a Master’s in Taxation preferred. Excellent benefits include bonuses and a 401(k) match, with clear path toward Partnership.

Qualifications

• Minimum five to seven years' experience in public accounting with tax focus.
• One year supervising and directing tax preparers.
• CPA license is required.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve tax returns; handle complex examinations.
• Manage larger tax returns and delegate to staff.
• Advise clients with advanced tax skills and research.
• Ensure timely client service and billing within budgets.
• Participate in client meetings and tax planning with the Auditing & Accounting Dept.
