Qualifications

  • Public accounting experience; Big 4 experience valued.
  • Minimum 2 years of managerial experience.
  • Strong knowledge of tax code and compliance.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns.
  • Experience with trust and nonprofit tax preparation and review.
  • Strong tax planning and advisory experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing workflow and staff; developing direct reports.
  • Strong client-facing skills; excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Leadership and interpersonal abilities; CPA or EA preferred, CPA highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an existing book of business and develop client relationships.
  • Prepare and review individual, business, trust, and nonprofit tax returns.

  • Identify opportunities to improve internal policies, procedures, workflows, and workpaper systems.
  • Contribute ideas as the firm grows through acquisitions.
  • Support growth of the Richmond operation.

About The Opportunity

A growing accounting firm based in Jacksonville, FL is in the process of acquiring a tax firm in Richmond, VA and is looking for an experienced Tax Manager to step into a key leadership position.

This individual will manage an established book of business with the opportunity to eventually take ownership of that book. The position offers a strong career path within a firm that is actively growing through acquisitions and looking for someone who can become one of the primary tax resources for the organization.

This is an opportunity for an experienced tax professional who wants more than a traditional management role. The firm is looking for someone who can lead, develop staff, work directly with clients, contribute ideas, and play an active role in shaping processes as the organization continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage an existing book of business and develop strong relationships with clients

Qualifications
  • Strong public accounting experience
  • Big 4 experience is highly valued

Compensation And Benefits
  • $120,000 to $135,000 base salary
  • 8% to 12% discretionary bonus
