Tax Manager or Senior Manager – Exempt Organizations

Key Responsibilities
- Review partnership, corporate, and individual tax returns, including federal, foreign, state and local returns, estimated payments and extensions.
- Assist with federal and state tax audits, providing technical solutions and documentation.
- Leverage expertise in exempt organizations to determine appropriate tax objectives, scope, methodology and identify solutions and opportunities such as credits or items from tax law changes.
- Use technology (e.g., CCH Axcess) to maximize technical application and hold the engagement team to the same standard.
- Serve as primary engagement manager—responsible for billing, realization and collections.
- Participate in internal and external networking events and contribute to business expansion through proposal development and sales calls.
- Supervise and develop a team of 1‑2 associates on each engagement, focusing on technical tax knowledge and client engagement management.
- Engage in the annual CORE training program and other non‑billable initiatives such as recruiting, internal training, mentoring and thought‑leadership content.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in public accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent).
- CPA or Bar License required.
- Relocate to or reside in the Wakefield/Boston area; willingness to travel across the region, including overnight stays, is required.
- Comfortable with an exempt position in which hours may exceed the typical 40‑hour work week.
