Job summary

CLA is seeking a Tax Director or Manager to join our Southern Minnesota Tax practice, with locations including New Ulm, Austin, Mankato, Owatonna and Rochester. You will lead client engagements, develop tax strategies, and coach staff to grow inspired careers.

This role emphasizes collaboration, problem solving, and ongoing professional growth within CLA’s national platform, with a focus on building opportunities for clients, communities, and people.

Qualifications

• 6 years of tax experience in public accounting or professional services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA required (EA or JD may be accepted in lieu of CPA).

• Consult with clients on business processes such as succession and tax planning.
• Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements.
• Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
• Foster and build opportunities for our clients, communities, and people.
• Become an industry professional and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
• Perform a range of tax procedures in accordance with engagement size and complexity.
• Review complex individual and corporate tax returns.

What You Will Need

• 6 years of experience serving in a tax role with public accounting and/or professional services firm
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• CPA required (EA or JD may be accepted in lieu of CPA certification)

The Minnesota Posting Range for this role is $92,000.00 - $165,000.00
