Job summary

FORGE SEARCH + CONSULTING, LLC partners with a well-established Greenville CPA firm to recruit an experienced Tax Manager. This role suits those who enjoy public accounting in a smaller, collaborative environment where you can develop meaningful client relationships and work closely with firm leadership.

You will oversee tax engagements for privately held businesses, pass-through entities, and individuals, provide year-round planning, and coach junior staff while expanding the firm’s tax

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
• Active CPA license required.
• 5+ years of progressive tax experience within public accounting.
• Strong experience with S corporations, pass-through entities, and individual taxation.
• Experience reviewing tax returns and managing engagements from planning through completion.
• Exposure to estate and trust taxation is a plus.
• Experience serving privately held businesses across industries such as manufacturing, construction, and professional services.
• Strong client relationship, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience coaching and developing junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage tax engagements for privately held businesses, pass-through entities, and individuals.
• Review federal and state returns focusing on S corporations, partnerships, and individuals; plus some estate and trust work.
• Provide year-round tax planning, compliance, and advisory services for clients.
• Develop understanding of clients' businesses to identify proactive tax planning opportunities.
• Research and resolve complex tax matters and communicate recommendations to clients.
• Serve as a trusted contact and build long-term client relationships beyond compliance.
• Manage engagement timelines, workflow, and priorities across multiple client engagements.
• Review work of associates and senior staff and provide coaching and technical guidance.
• Partner with firm leadership on client strategy and opportunities to grow the tax practice.
• Support development and growth of the firm's tax practice.
