Job summary

Purchasing Power, part of PROG Holdings, is seeking a Tax Manager to lead the U.S. federal and multi-state tax function, including compliance, provision, planning, and audits.

You will partner with Finance, Legal, IT and external advisors to optimize cash taxes and ensure accurate disclosures. This role can be based in Salt Lake City, UT with a hybrid arrangement or performed remotely within the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
• 5–8+ years of progressive tax experience, including public accounting or public company
• Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and multi-entity tax environments
• Experience handling tax audits, notices, and uncertain tax positions
• Familiarity with tax technology tools such as Workday and OneSource

Responsibilities

• Manage and review federal and multi-state income tax returns for timeliness and accuracy
• Coordinate multi-state tax compliance, apportionment, and state-specific requirements
• Support ASC 740 tax provision calculations and related analyses
• Assist with tax disclosures for SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q)
• Partner with auditors and tax advisors to ensure deliverables are met
• Support international tax compliance and intercompany transactions
• Contribute to tax planning to optimize cash taxes and effective tax rate
• Drive process improvements and automation in tax workflows
