Job summary

Software Placement Group (SPG) is seeking a Tax Manager in Troy, Michigan to join a well-established public accounting firm. The role involves managing tax compliance and planning for individuals, businesses, and entities, reviewing returns, and advising clients with a collaborative team.

The position offers a hybrid schedule after onboarding, a base salary of $150k–$170k, and a performance bonus, along with health and life insurance, a 401k match, and other benefits.

Qualifications

• Experienced public accounting tax professional with manager-level capability.
• Strong individual and business tax review experience.
• Ability to manage client relationships and mentor/review staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage tax compliance and planning work for individual, business, and entity clients.
• Review tax returns and provide guidance to senior and staff-level team members.
• Serve as a client-facing advisor on tax, accounting, and planning issues.
• Help clients resolve practical bookkeeping/accounting issues that affect tax outcomes.
• Coordinate with assurance staff and other team members on overlapping client needs.
• Support clients across industries, with construction-industry experience considered a plus.
