Job summary

CLA is hiring a Tax Director or Manager to join CLA Carolantaville's Business Tax team in an in-office setting. This role offers opportunities to work with business clients and advance your inspired career across multiple offices including Nashville.

You will lead tax engagements, mentor staff, and provide strategic tax planning for partnerships, S-corps, and pass-through entities while fostering client relationships and community impact.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in tax at a public accounting or professional services firm.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Active JD, CPA, or EA certification.

Responsibilities

• Consult with partnership, S-corps, and pass-through clients on business processes such as succession and tax planning.
• Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements.
• Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
• Foster and build opportunities for clients, communities, and people.
• Attend industry events and trainings to stay current.
• Perform tax procedures commensurate with engagement size and complexity.
• Review complex partnership, S-corp, pass-through, and high-net-worth personal tax returns.

This is an in office position based out of any of the following offices: Charlotte, Raleigh, Winston‑Salem, Atlanta, and Nashville.

How you’ll create opportunities in this Tax Manager/Director role:

• Consult with partnership, S-corp, and pass-through clients on business processes such as succession and tax planning.
• Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements.
• Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
• Foster and build opportunities for our clients, communities, and people.
• Become an industry professional and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
• Perform a range of tax procedures in accordance with the size and complexity of the engagement.
• Review complex partnership, S-corp, pass-thru, and HNW personal tax returns.

What you will need:

• You have a minimum of 6 years of experience serving in a tax role with public accounting and/or professional services firm.
• You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• You have an active JD, CPA, or EA certification.
