Job summary

Empirical Wealth Management in Walnut Creek, CA is seeking a Tax Manager to lead the firm’s tax compliance and planning for a diverse client base, including individuals, trusts, and businesses.

You will sign federal and state returns, oversee tax strategies, and collaborate with advisory teams to optimize tax outcomes. A CPA or JD is required, with a Master’s in taxation preferred, and a track record of managing multiple engagements. This role offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience with extensive taxation.

• Proficiency in tax software and research tools (i.e., CCH Axcess Tax, BNA Income Tax Planner, and CCH IntelliConnect).
• Excellent written and verbal communicationskills

Responsibilities

• Manage existing and build new clientrelationships
• Oversee tax planning strategies for clients and run taxprojections
• Prepare internal memos, written tax guidance, and correspond with IRS and state taxauthorities
• Support and collaborate with the advisory team on tax planning relatedfunctions
• Manage workflow, budgets, andbillings
• Evaluate and develop processes and procedures to improve tax departmentefficiency

We are seeking a talented tax professional to join the firm’s tax practice. As a Tax Manager, you will be expected to be the lead team member for tax compliance and tax planning for some of the firm’sclients.

KeyResponsibilities

Compensation

• Salary range: $125,000 –$175,000 plus incentive bonus
• Benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, and Disability Insurance for employees are 100% paid for by thecompany
