There are firms where becoming Partner feels like a distant promise.

And there are firms where the growth is happening quickly enough that someone good can genuinely get there sooner than expected.

This is much more the second one.

The firm is growing, both in terms of workload and geographically, and they’re looking for a Tax Supervisor or Tax Manager who wants more than another review role. Someone who’d actually enjoy having autonomy over clients and staff, potentially taking responsibility for smaller tuck in practices as the firm expands, and building towards equity and partnership.

You’ll need to be comfortable with partnership returns and ideally be a CPA, although someone actively working towards it will absolutely be considered.

Experience with wine and agriculture clients would be particularly useful given the firm’s client base. Hospitality experience translates well too.

The slightly more interesting bit is where this role could go.

They’re ideally looking for someone who’d be excited by the prospect of becoming a Partner in the relatively short term, with the opportunity to lead parts of the business as it continues to grow. There’s genuine scope for equity here rather than partnership being something vaguely mentioned during an interview and never discussed again.

The firm itself has a strong culture and has invested properly in its systems. Everything is robust, cloud based and set up to make life easier rather than forcing you to battle technology from 2007. They use UltraTax.

They’d ideally like someone in the office five days a week. The office is genuinely very nice, which admittedly is something every company says, but in this case it’s actually worth mentioning.
