You’ll join a growing tax and financial advisory practice in Raleigh, working directly with business owners, high-income individuals and investors across compliance, tax planning and longer-term wealth strategies.
The role combines technical tax work with proactive advice, giving you the opportunity to understand what clients are trying to achieve and help structure things before year-end rather than simply reporting what already happened.

What you’ll be doing:
- Manage federal and state tax engagements for individuals and privately owned businesses
- Review individual, partnership and S Corporation tax returns
- Manage more complex pass-through entity matters
- Provide year-round tax planning rather than purely seasonal compliance
- Prepare and review tax projections
- Advise business owners on tax-efficient entity structures
- Identify opportunities to reduce current and future tax liabilities
- Work with high-income individuals on more complex planning matters
- Advise real estate investors on depreciation and other tax strategies
- Support clients approaching the sale or succession of a business
- Become involved in charitable giving and wealth-transfer strategies
- Coordinate tax planning with retirement, investment and estate objectives
- Manage client relationships throughout the year
- Research technical tax issues and legislative changes
- Review staff work and provide technical guidancei>

- Work closely with senior leadership on more complex client situations
The practice specifically positions itself around proactive planning for business owners, real estate investors, high-income earners and clients approaching business exits, while integrating tax with entity structure, retirement and estate considerations.
What they’re looking for:
- 5+ years of U.S. tax/public accounting experience
- Previous Tax Manager or strong Tax Supervisor experience
- CPA or EA preferred
- Strong individual and business tax knowledge
- Experience with Forms 1040, 1065 and 1120S
- Strong partnership and S Corporation experience
- Experience working with business owners and high-net-worth individuals
- Tax planning and advisory experience
- Multistate tax experience would be valuable
- Real estate tax exposure would be an asset
- Experience with trusts, estates or wealth planning would be beneficial
- Comfortable managing client relationships directly
- Experience reviewing staff work and developing junior team members
- Someone who enjoys proactive planning rather than purely compliance-driven tax work
- Previous public accounting experience strongly preferred
