Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of public accounting experience.
  • 2+ years supervising or leading accounting or tax professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations, U.S. GAAP, and accounting principles.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing complex individual and business tax returns.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, S corporations, trusts, and other entities.
  • Ensure tax filings comply with applicable tax laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Research complex tax issues and provide practical recommendations to clients and internal team members.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and advise clients on strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Stay current with changes in tax legislation and accounting standards.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on tax, accounting, and general business matters.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsive service.
  • Collaborate with clients to address accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance needs.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and communicate value-added solutions to clients.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting and tax professionals.
  • Review staff work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with firm standards.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to support professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment focused on continuous improvement.
  • Manage multiple client engagements while ensuring quality, efficiency, and timely completion.
  • Coordinate project timelines, workloads, and client deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes, workflows, and client service delivery.
  • Support firm initiatives related to growth, technology, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience supervising or leading accounting or tax professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations, U.S. GAAP, and accounting principles.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing complex individual and business tax returns.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or active pursuit of CPA certification.
  • Experience with professional tax preparation and accounting software (such as Thomson Reuters products or similar platforms).
  • Experience with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software.
  • Experience providing tax planning and business advisory services.
  • Proven ability to mentor staff and contribute to team development.
  • Experience identifying process improvements and business development opportunities.
