Job description

Hybrid | $165,000 to $185,000+

For a lot of experienced Tax Managers, the next move isn’t really about becoming Senior Manager.

It’s about finding the firm where becoming Partner actually feels realistic.

Plenty of firms talk about Partner track. Fewer can tell you why the opportunity exists, who you’ll be succeeding, and what the next few years could genuinely look like.

This independent CPA firm can.

Several long standing Partners are approaching retirement and, rather than leaving succession planning until the last minute, they’re investing in the next generation now.

They’re open to an experienced Manager, Senior Manager or Director. Your title today matters less than where you want to get to.

You’ll likely have built your career within smaller to mid sized public accounting firms, typically somewhere between 20 and 300 people. You enjoy the dynamic of a firm where you know your clients, work closely with the Partners and can have a real influence on what happens around you.

Who you are?

You might already be operating at Senior Manager or Director level and frustrated by an unclear route forward. Or you could be an experienced Manager who still enjoys public accounting, wants more responsibility and knows Partnership is where you ultimately want to end up.

The firm is independently owned, around 40 people in size, and has grown steadily through reputation and referrals rather than acquisitions.

No private equity. No constant restructuring. No culture reset every few years.

As Partners transition out, you’ll have the opportunity to take on established client relationships, become involved in leadership decisions and have a genuine say in where the firm goes next.

They want people to progress and aren’t interested in creating unnecessary hurdles to keep good people at a certain level.

  • The work itself is broad and hands on. You’ll manage and review work across closely held businesses, high net worth individuals, trusts, estates, real estate and construction clients. You’ll build strong client relationships, develop staff and increasingly become someone clients and the wider team look to for advice.

Importantly, becoming Partner here doesn’t mean suddenly turning into a full time salesperson.

Some of the existing Partners are highly technical. Others are brilliant relationship builders.

There isn’t one mould you need to fit. What matters is that you care about clients, take ownership and want to help move the firm forward.

Outside of tax season there’s significant flexibility too. People are trusted to manage their schedules and deliver for clients without unnecessary bureaucracy.

You’ll need:
  • Public accounting experience with review and client management responsibilities
  • Experience managing and developing staff
  • Experience within a small to mid sized CPA firm environment
  • A desire to take on greater responsibility and progress towards Partnership
