Our client is a well-established consumer goods business with a growing North America tax function based in Parsippany, New Jersey.
The role sits within the North America tax department and reports to the Head of Tax, NAC. It carries broad ownership of US and Canadian federal, state and local income tax matters, including quarterly and annual tax provision and forecasting, the FDII and Section 250 deduction computation, review and preparation of the BEAT computation, and quarterly and annual forecasting of Section 163(j) interest limitations. The individual will act as the primary liaison with external tax advisors, reviewing externally prepared returns and workpapers for technical accuracy, managing the tax calendar and filing governance across jurisdictions, and supporting transfer pricing documentation, federal and state estimates and extensions, and indirect tax processes including US sales and use tax. There is further scope to get involved in adhoc projects as the business continues their global transformation.
The right candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field, with a CPA or Master's in Tax preferred (not a must). Strong knowledge of US federal and state corporate taxation is essential, together with a working understanding of indirect tax and a solid grasp of tax accounting under IFRS (IAS 12). Experience reviewing federal, Canadian, state and local tax returns prepared by external advisors is expected, along with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with tax software and ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, OneSource or SAP is an advantage.
Salary range is between $115K-$140K with a bonus of 15%.
