Frost Law Firm Business Law Attorneys MD, DC, VA & FL in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Tax Litigation Associate with 2–8 years of experience to join our litigation team. The role focuses on tax controversy and litigation, including ERC disputes and PEO matters, with exposure to civil and commercial matters.

You will manage cases from intake to resolution, participate in hearings, and work closely with senior attorneys in a collaborative, client-focused environment that supports professional growth.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• 2–8 years of litigation experience (tax controversy a plus).
• US Tax Court admission or eligibility a plus.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases with attention to detail.
• Fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of tax controversy and litigation matters, including ERC refunds and disallowance disputes, PEO and employment tax matters.
• Handle cases from intake through resolution, settlement, trial, or appeal, including proceedings before the U.S. Tax Court, federal district courts, and state tax tribunals.
• Represent clients in IRS and state taxing authority audits, appeals, and refund claims.
• Draft pleadings, protests, discovery requests/responses, motions, and briefs.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and key fact witnesses.
• Negotiate resolutions with the IRS, state taxing authorities, opposing counsel, and others.
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trial proceedings.
• Provide strategic recommendations and clear legal analysis to clients.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to deliver exceptional client service.
