Job summary

Highgate Hotels, LP in Irving, TX is seeking a Summer 2027 Tax Internship within our Select Service Tax division. This part-time, on-site internship runs for 10 weeks starting in June and focuses on hotel property tax processes and reporting.

You will work alongside experienced Tax professionals to develop analytical skills that support accurate tax compliance and financial decision-making across our hotel portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality Finance (in progress) or a similar degree.
  • Minimum Junior status.
  • Knowledge of accounting and/or finance principles.
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables) and PowerPoint skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be organized with the ability to work accurately under time pressure.
  • Demonstrate communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to commit to a 10-week onsite internship (June-August).
  • Must reside in the Dallas, TX area during the internship and work onsite in Irving, TX.
  • Salary - $20/hour for 40-hour week, with a duration of 10 weeks.

Overview

Join Highgate this summer for an exciting opportunity with our Select Service Tax division as a Tax Intern!

Our 2027 Tax Internship gives you the opportunity to explore how tax supports financial operations across the hospitality industry. You'll work alongside experienced Tax professionals, gain exposure to hotel property tax processes and reporting, and begin developing the analytical and technical skills that support accurate tax compliance and financial decision-making across a hotel portfolio. Our internship begins in June and is based at our Corporate Offices in Irving, TX.

For Employees Based in Washington:

For Employees Based in Colorado:

  • 8 paid holidays per year; employees working in the City of Denver receive 64 hours of designated holiday time per calendar year
  • Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service
  • 6 days or 48 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year, accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.

For Employees Based in California:

  • 8 paid holidays per year
  • Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service, capped at 1.5x annual accrual rate; non-supervisory employees working in the City of Los Angeles accrue up to 22 days of Compensated Time Off, based on length of service capped at 192 hours of combined PST and CTO.
  • Paid Sick Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, unused time is carried over from one anniversary year to the next up to a maximum of 80 hours; employees working in the City of Los Angeles are provided 40 hours of Paid Sick Time annually on their anniversary, unused time is not carried over from one anniversary year to the next.
