Job summary

Insero & Co. CPAs, LLP in Ithaca, NY, is offering a paid internship starting January 2027 for accounting students (undergrad or grad). The program provides hands-on experience with tax preparation, CaseWare, and CCH Axcess, with opportunities to train across teams and participate in meaningful projects.

Qualifications

• Accounting students in undergrad (sophomore–senior) or graduate accounting program eligible.
• Must return to school after internship.
• Strong verbal and written communication as well as organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Training on CaseWare and CCH Axcess.
• Prepare 1099s, W-2s, individual tax returns and extensions using a highly technical system.
• Gain a basic understanding of how tax work flows through the office.
• Improve organization and planning skills.

The purpose of our internship program is toprovide students the opportunity to fulfill tasks set out by various teams togain valuable experience and insight into the everyday environment of a publicaccounting firm. The internship is a hands-on experience which willprepare you for a transition into your career.

Requirements

Requirements:

Accountingstudents who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and in theirsophomore through senior year or enrolled in a graduate accounting degreeprogram are eligible for this position. Students must be returning to school tobe eligible. Strong verbal and written communication skills along with strongorganizational skills are required. Functional knowledge of the MS Office Suiteincluding Word and Excel is required. The ideal candidate must be able to meetdeadlines, be proactive, and have solid multi-tasking skills and stronganalytical ability.
