Purvis Gray, a leading Tampa CPA firm, invites accounting students to join its Tax Internship at the Tampa Office. Work alongside tax professionals on real client engagements while developing technical and professional skills for public accounting.

The Spring 2027 program runs January–April 2027. Interns will prepare tax returns, assist with projections, and use tax software, gaining exposure to diverse clients and industries. This hands-on experience builds a solid foundation for CPA licensure.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an accounting degree and CPA licensure plans.
• Completion of at least one taxation course prior to start.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Available for the full internship cohort and scheduled commitments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and related workpapers under supervision.
• Assist with tax projections, estimates, and client planning activities.
• Use current tax and accounting software to complete tasks accurately.
• Research tax questions and summarize findings for review.
• Organize and review client information for completeness and accuracy.
• Communicate with team regarding tasks and deadlines.
• Handle confidential client information with professionalism.
• Participate in training, team meetings, and other opportunities to learn tax and public accounting.
• Complete additional projects supporting client service and professional development.
