Job summary

Purvis Gray & Company, LLP invites accounting students to join its Summer 2027 Tax Internship in the Tallahassee office. Interns work with tax professionals on real client work and build essential technical and professional skills for a career in public accounting.

You will prepare tax returns, assist with projections, use tax software, research questions, organize client information, and participate in training sessions and team meetings.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
• Completion of at least one Individual Taxation or Corporate/Business Taxation course prior to the start of the internship.
• Intends to meet the educational requirements for CPA licensure upon graduation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on assignments, and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to ask questions, take initiative, receive feedback, and learn as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
• Available for the full internship cohort and scheduled work commitments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and related workpapers under the guidance of engagement leaders.
• Assist with tax projections, estimates, and other client-related tax planning activities.
• Use current tax and accounting software to complete assigned work accurately and efficiently.
• Research tax-related questions and summarize findings for review.
• Organize and review client-provided information for completeness and accuracy.
• Communicate with team members regarding assigned work, questions, and deadlines.
• Handle sensitive and confidential client information with professionalism and integrity.
• Participate in training, team meetings, and other opportunities to learn more about tax and public accounting.
• Complete additional projects and assignments that support client service and professional development.
