Job summary

Wipfli LLP is seeking a Tax Internship candidate in Naperville, IL. You will assist with tax preparation, research, and client data gathering under supervision. This role emphasizes hands-on learning in tax software and engagement support.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting (completion of corporate or individual taxation class is required)
• Above average knowledge in accounting; preferred GPA 3.0 or higher
• Working towards eligibility to sit for CPA exam upon graduation
• Preferred coursework in Data Analytics or Big Data

Responsibilities

• Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner
• Gather necessary information from clients to complete required documents
• Use data analysis to discover useful information and support recommendations
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
• Prepare individual, business and fiduciary tax returns and projections
• Understand and use current tax and accounting software
• Research tax-related issues and related financial reports
• Conduct a limited number of tax return interviews
• Gain hands-on experience in tax and software applications
• Support client engagements as an individual contributor and as part of a team
• Exposure to a variety of clients from small businesses to large corporations
• Develop administrative, professional, and interpersonal skills for productive communication
