Job summary

Hilltop Holdings Inc. is seeking a Summer Intern to join the Tax department in Dallas, TX. You will work closely with the Tax team to gain hands-on experience and participate in end-to-end operational tax processes.

Responsibilities include supporting month and quarter ends, assisting with tax accruals and state apportionment analysis, preparing tax returns, and interacting with the Executive Leadership team. Rising seniors pursuing a finance/accounting/tax degree are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; rising senior in finance/accounting/tax preferred.
• 0–1 year experience is acceptable but not required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and self-starting attitude.
• Proficient in MS Office; able to navigate Windows or Mac environments.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Learn Finance/Accounting/Tax functions under the Director of Tax.
• Support month & quarter end close processes.
• Assist with strategic planning, including input consolidation and modeling.
• Support tax accrual preparation, state apportionment analysis, and tax return workpapers.
• Handle ad hoc requests from Executive Leadership and perform other duties as assigned.
