Job summary

CLA is hiring Tax Interns for its Bloomington, Champaign, and Peoria offices in Illinois. The start date is January 2028. Interns will prepare various tax returns, gain exposure to procedures and workpapers, and support multiple client engagements while maintaining budgets.

A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred, with CPA eligibility emphasized. Proficiency in MS Office and reliable transportation are expected, and willingness to travel to client sites is required as interns

Qualifications

• Working toward a bachelor’s degree; accounting or finance degree strongly preferred.
• Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam per state requirements.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and financial data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepares individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns.
• Gains experience with procedures, workpapers, and systems.
• Supports multiple client engagements on time and within budget, communicating progress.
