Job summary

KPMG LLP is seeking an Associate to join our Tax practice in San Francisco. You will support PMDs and manage engagement logistics, billing, and data analysis to optimize engagement success and firm revenue.

You’ll coordinate with onshore and offshore teams, ensuring timely responses, accurate billing, and compliant engagement setup. Strong communication and issue resolution will be essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of recent work experience.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration from an accredited college/university or a minimum of three years of relevant work experience, preferably within a professional service or Tax business environment.
• Excellent technical skills, with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn and utilize new technology and tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of interfacing effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
• Excellent data analysis and web-based research skills; effective time and project management skills to ensure the successful management of multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to independently address issues of moderate complexity; ability to work autonomously and as a collaborative, productive member of a project team.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic support for PMDs, coordinating with offshore resources and internal teams to manage opportunities, engagement setup, billing and collections, and closeout.
• Analyze data and stakeholder communications to advise on engagement success and revenue optimization.
• Own billing and reconciliation, determine bill rates and chargeable hours, and supervise related third‑party activity as needed.
• Oversee engagement setup and maintenance, tailor processes to client needs, and execute pricing strategies.
• Develop networks with internal and external stakeholders to drive engagement success and client data collection and invoicing.
• Coordinate administrative support for PMDs, including calendars, meetings, travel, and expense reporting.
