Somatus is seeking a Tax Director to lead the company’s tax function in support of a rapidly growing healthcare organization. You will oversee federal, state, and local income tax, indirect tax, and tax provision activities, while shaping processes and controls for scalable growth and potential public-company readiness.

The role requires deep technical tax expertise, strategic vision, and hands-on leadership to partner with Accounting, Finance, Legal, HR, and external advisors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive tax experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax, as well as indirect tax.
• Experience supporting tax provision processes and ASC 740.

Responsabilités

• Lead the overall tax function, including direct tax, state and local tax, indirect tax, tax planning, and tax compliance.
• Coordinate federal, state, and local income tax filings with external advisors.
• Support quarterly and annual tax provision processes under ASC 740.
• Monitor state and local tax exposure, nexus, and sales/use tax matters.
• Evaluate tax implications of contracts, new business initiatives, and entity structures.
• Manage tax audits, notices, and inquiries with documentation and issue resolution.
• Develop and maintain tax policies, controls, and scalable processes for future public-company readiness.
• Coordinate with external auditors on tax-related matters and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Stay informed on tax law changes affecting the company.
