Job summary

CLA is seeking a Banking and Specialty Finance Tax Manager/Director in Minnesota to help lead CLA's Financial Services Tax practice. You will guide long-term strategy, talent development, and client strategy in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

You will consult on tax planning, lead engagements, and mentor teams, shaping opportunities for clients and communities while advancing professional expertise within the firm.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in tax within a public accounting setting.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA is required; JD or EA may be accepted in place of CPA.
• Deep understanding of tax issues affecting banks, insurance companies, investment funds, and specialty finance entities.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 740, partnership taxation, REITs, and financial instruments.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients on business processes such as succession and tax planning.
• Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements.
• Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
• Foster and build opportunities for our clients, communities, and people.
• Become an industry professional and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
• Perform a range of tax procedures in accordance with the size and complexity of the engagement.
• Review complex individual and corporate tax returns.
