Job summary

Accounting Career Consultants is offering a tax leadership role in the St. Louis area with a flexible work-from-home arrangement and generous PTO. You will oversee complex tax engagements, mentor staff, and drive client relationships while advancing toward a partnership track.

The position emphasizes practical tax guidance, ongoing research, and strategic client development within a collaborative, friendly team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• CPA/JD/EA or other credential permitting representation before the IRS.
• 8+ years of tax experience, ideally within public accounting.
• Proven leadership experience managing client relationships, engagements and professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Review complex individual and business tax returns (partnership, S-Corp, C-Corp).
• Advise clients on tax planning and transactions.
• Oversee a portfolio of client engagements, ensuring quality, deadlines and service.
• Research evolving tax issues and provide guidance on regulatory inquiries.
• Develop and expand client relationships through new business opportunities.
• Lead, mentor and develop managers and tax professionals while managing staffing and profitability.
