Our client, the largest business management firm in the United States, is seeking an experienced Tax Director to join its New York City office. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a seasoned tax professional looking to make a meaningful impact by guiding a high-performing team, advising sophisticated clients, and helping shape the future of a growing tax practice.
The Tax Director will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and firm leadership while overseeing complex tax compliance, planning, and consulting engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of tax professionals through mentorship, coaching, and technical guidance.
- Review complex tax returns, including individual, trust, partnership, and corporate filings, as well as multi-state returns and tax projections.
- Partner with firm leadership to address tax-related business needs and provide strategic recommendations.
- Research and resolve complex tax issues while developing practical, client-focused solutions.
- Deliver high-quality tax planning, consulting, and compliance services across a diverse client base.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and trusted advisory support.
- Stay current on federal, state, and international tax developments affecting clients and the firm.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of federal tax compliance and/or consulting experience within public accounting or professional services.
- 5+ years of experience leading tax teams or managing a tax practice.
- Strong knowledge of domestic and international tax regulations and U.S. GAAP.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex tax matters and implement effective solutions.
- Advanced proficiency with tax technology and software platforms.
- CPA designation or JD with an active law license required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Hybrid schedule (4 days per week in the office).

Compensation
- Base salary: $200,000 - $215,000, depending on experience and qualifications
