Job summary

Carta is seeking a Tax Associate to join our Tax team in Seattle, WA. This role focuses on preparing and filing tax returns, supporting the delivery process, and collaborating with venture capital clients on investment structures and related tax issues.

You will assist with e-filing, notices, and inquiries, while maintaining accuracy and proactive communication with clients and internal teams. This position offers a competitive salary and equity for full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Must have experience supporting the preparation and filing of tax returns and IRS e-filings.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in handling tax documents.
• Strong communication and client-facing abilities.
• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience leveraging Carta Tax software or similar systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tax return processing including e-filing and mailing of federal and state filings, as applicable.
• Scan and file federal and state notices as received and maintain notice tracker.
• Assist with routing tax-related client inquiries to the relevant tax team members.
• Collect and validate tax records and financial data via Carta Tax software to prepare and review returns.
• Support special projects on an ad-hoc basis and provide admin support to team leaders.
• Interact with clients on administering investment structures and related documents.
