Job summary

PayPal is seeking a Tax Counsel - Information Reporting to ensure global information reporting compliance, including FATCA, CRS, CARF, and 1099 across products and processes. The role partners with cross-functional teams to assess new products and policy needs, and to identify and defend tax positions.

The candidate will manage complex tax matters, coordinate with external advisors, and mentor junior team members while contributing to policy development and risk mitigation within PayPal's tax

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant tax experience.
• JD degree or foreign equivalent.
• Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Advises on complex tax issues affecting business operations and initiatives.
• Develops technical tax analyses for planning, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Partners with Finance and business units to structure initiatives tax-efficiently.
• Identifies tax risk exposures and suggests mitigation aligned with PayPal's risk tolerance.
• Mentors junior attorneys and supports knowledge development within the tax function.
