Job summary

NPAworldwide is seeking a Staff Attorney to join its Tax team in Charlotte. The role focuses on representing Fortune 500 companies with tax planning, incentive negotiations, and compliance across state and local regimes.

Responsibilities include negotiating incentives, drafting contracts, and supporting tax compliance. Requires a JD and extensive tax/contract experience, with a strong ability to work with officials and deadlines.

Qualifications

• J.D. required from an accredited law school.
• Active bar admission in a relevant jurisdiction (U.S.).
• 25 years of tax experience in a law firm or public accounting tax department preferred.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate state and local incentive packages with states, counties and municipalities.
• Draft and review state, local and utility partner contracts related to incentive offers.
• Assist clients with ongoing state and local tax incentive compliance and reporting.
