Job summary

Goosehead Insurance Agency LLC is seeking a Manager, Tax to lead the organization’s income tax function, overseeing federal and state returns prepared by external providers and coordinating with accounting, FP&A, and payroll teams. The role focuses on GAAP tax provision, internal controls, and SOX-compliant processes.

Qualified candidates will have 4–7+ years of tax experience (Big 4 or national public accounting preferred), CPA or candidate status, and strong knowledge of ASC 740 and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax or related field; Master’s in Taxation a plus.
• CPA or CPA candidate.
• 4-7+ years of tax experience, ideally including Big 4 or national public accounting experience in corporate and/or partnership taxation.
• Exposure to income tax provision (ASC 740) preparation or review.
• Knowledge of corporate and partnership tax environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and filing of federal and state corporate and partnership income tax returns by third-party service providers.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the accounting team and external tax preparers, ensuring timely and complete delivery of financial data and supporting schedules.
• Manage internal and external filing deadlines, tracking deliverables across all federal and state returns.
• Analyze state nexus and apportionment positions across multi-state operations, coordinating with outside advisors on filing methodology.
• Review tax provisions, calculate current and deferred tax, and monitor related processes for accuracy.
