Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with six semester hours in accounting.
• Experience substitutions: two years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, credit collections, tax prep, or related work may substitute for one year of college; tenure with the Dept may substitute year-for-year.

Responsibilities

• Pursues collection of delinquent taxes by contacting taxpayers in person, by phone, and by mail.
• negotiates payment plans not exceeding 12 months.
• Issues bank levies, wage garnishments, and tax liens as needed.
• Reviews tax returns and supporting documentation; investigates non-compliance and tax-related complaints.
