Smith + Howard is hiring a Tax Client Services Specialist to provide administrative and tax support to partners, managers, and staff while ensuring tax documents and returns are accurate and on time. You’ll work closely with the tax team to manage documents, support client service, and handle day-to-day administrative needs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 2+ years of related experience.
• Previous administrative support experience; professional services experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Suite.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Self-motivated, team-oriented; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to learn new software and adapt to changing processes.

Responsibilities

• Verify tax returns and related tax documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide administrative support to tax partners, managers, and staff.
• Process and distribute engagement letters, tax returns, estimates, extensions, and organizers.
• Assist with file management, project deliverables, scanning, and other administrative tasks to support tax deadlines.
• Communicate professionally with clients and firm personnel while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Maintain strong organization and attention to detail while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Work overtime, including evenings and weekends, during peak tax deadline periods as needed.
