Job summary

Archer Lewis, a national accounting and advisory firm, seeks a senior leader to oversee tax, audit, and assurance engagements for diverse clients in Oregon and beyond.

You’ll mentor staff, drive complex engagements, and help shape growth while delivering high-quality service. This role requires CPA licensure, 7+ years public accounting experience, and strong leadership capabilities. Competitive compensation with a bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.
• Active CPA license required.
• 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience in both tax and assurance.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing staff, client engagements, and project workflows.
• Experience with S corporations, C corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary client contact across tax, audit, and assurance engagements
• Review complex tax returns including corporate, partnership, trust, estate, and LLC filings
• Provide technical expertise in tax law, compliance, and planning strategies
• Utilize UltraTax (or similar) to review and manage tax engagements at a high level
• Lead assurance and accounting engagements, applying GAAP and governmental (GASB) standards
• Oversee client accounting functions and take ownership of ongoing books and financial reporting
• Review work prepared by senior and staff accountants, ensuring accuracy and quality control
• Supervise and mentor team members, supporting development and performance
• Act as a front-line leader in managing and growing the firm’s book of business
• Partner with leadership to improve processes and support practice growth
