Job summary

Prominent global law firm in New York is seeking a tax associate to join its growing team. The role will focus on tax planning, partnership tax, international tax, and related compliance work.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience at a public accounting firm with partnership tax exposure, plus strong tax research skills and experience with tax library services. NYC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of public accounting firm experience with partnership tax.
• Strong tax research and access to tax library services.
• Experience with international and multi-jurisdictional tax rules.
• Ability to liaise with partners and external advisors.

Responsibilities

• Tax Planning & Research: monitor tax developments relevant to partnership initiatives (e.g., international tax for professional service firms, foreign tax credits, expatriate taxes).
• Policy & Strategy: analyze, recommend, and document tax positions for the firm, and develop a comprehensive internal tax manual.
• Stakeholder Communication: liaise with tax authorities, advisors, partners, and their personal return preparers to resolve tax inquiries.
• Compliance & Oversight: compile data and prepare workpapers for US and international tax compliance (including foreign partner withholdings and transfer pricing).
