Job summary

Jobot in Oklahoma City is seeking a Tax Associate to join our growing team. The role focuses on tax preparation, financial analysis, and advisory-related projects for individuals, businesses, and professional clients.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in both individual and business tax preparation, strong analytical abilities, and professionalism handling confidential financial information and complex client matters. A CPA/EA is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in individual and business tax preparation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • CPA, EA, or CPA-track candidate strongly preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of corporate and individual taxation principles.
  • Experience with bookkeeping and financial statement review.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, QuickBooks, Lacerte, and/or UltraTax CS preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly and professionally.
  • High level of discretion and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, corporations, and trusts
  • Analyze financial records and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist in the preparation of financial schedules, worksheets, and exhibits for valuation, advisory, and financial dispute matters
  • Perform bookkeeping and account reconciliations for business and individual clients
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding tax filings, financial documentation, and information requests
  • Correspond with the IRS and state taxing authorities regarding notices, filings, and compliance matters
  • Conduct account analysis to identify tax planning opportunities, deductions, and credits
  • Support financial reporting and organizational projects for closely held businesses and high-net-worth clients
  • Maintain current knowledge of tax laws, compliance regulations, and accounting standards
  • Manage multiple client engagements while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy
