Job summary

Cerity Partners in Fort Worth seeks a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our tax team. You will assist on complex Federal and state returns for high-net-worth individuals and business entities, prepare financial exhibits, and support planning and client meetings with accuracy and timeliness.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years of experience; CPA or EA candidate preferred. Proficiency with CCH Axcess is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field.
  • 1–3 years in tax or related financial services.
  • CPA or EA candidate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial exhibits and analysis for client matters.
  • Prepare and review complex Federal and state tax returns for high-net-worth individuals and entities.
  • Coordinate client meetings and prepare materials.
  • Provide tax research and technical support to the team.
  • Prepare quarterly tax projections.
  • Assist in year-end 1099s and benefits calculations.
  • Respond to client inquiries with superior service.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Tax Preparer who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys working through data and documentation, and values collaboration. The ideal candidate brings a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships with teammates and internal partners in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support Partner and tax team on client matters, including:
  • Prepare financial exhibits and analysis – such as net worth statements, cash flow statements, estate tax forecasts, balance sheets, flow charts, asset allocations, and portfolio analysis
  • Prepare and review complex Federal and state income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, which could include individual (with many K-1’s from MLP’s and alternative investments), LLC’s, Business Entities, and Gift Tax
  • Coordinate client meetings including preparation of meeting materials; notifying and distributing agenda and implementing post-meeting action items
  • Determine service requirements and manage daily client activities applying problem-solving strategies
  • Answer client questions and respond to client inquiries, providing superior service and ensure successful resolution of any client need
  • Assist planning and investment team members and practice leaders with income tax research, technical advice and support on tax related matters
  • Prepare and review complex Federal and state income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, which could include Individual, Business, Estate and Gift Tax returns
  • Assist in the preparation of 1099s and other year-end related benefits calculations
  • Prepare and review quarterly tax projections
  • Support tax team with coordination of document needs
  • Answer client questions and respond to client inquiries, providing superior service and ensure successful resolution of any client need
  • Other tasks as needed
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. (Finance or Accounting majors preferred)
  • 1-3 years of work experience in financial industry, tax and/or related field
  • Strong attention to detail, exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to organize and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines in a proactive manner with little supervision required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, professional presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with staff and clients
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA or EA candidate preferred
  • Proficiency in CCH Axcess tax preparation software strongly preferred

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
