Description

The Tax and Trade Compliance Manager acts as the U.S. corporate international trade compliance lead, supporting BI USA trade compliance efforts and providing strategic and tactical guidance to the company’s U.S. business units. This role also involves operational responsibilities related to trade compliance for all U.S. operations, including guidance, risk assessment, and recommendations to the Directors of Trade Compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the company’s activities related to international trade under U.S. government agencies, including import/export duties and compliance with agencies such as DHS, CBP, BIS, US Census Bureau, OFAC, FDA, and others.
  • Align local trade compliance policies with corporate guidelines.
  • Audit and manage the company’s import/export compliance functions to ensure proper application of internal controls.
  • Oversee international trade service providers like customs brokers and freight forwarders.
  • Identify strategic initiatives to improve trade compliance efficiency and effectiveness of internal policies, implementing additional controls as needed.
  • Serve as the SME for international trade compliance for U.S. Business Units and global trade governance teams.
  • Act as the primary contact with CBP’s National Account Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide backup for communication systems and portals related to trade activities.
  • Develop and lead strategies for participation in USGA trade partnership programs.
  • Review processes, assess risks, and implement controls to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain current knowledge through annual training in international trade.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Professional trade compliance certification (e.g., NCBFAA CES, CCS, ECoP, CUSECO) or Licensed U.S. Customs Broker.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience in trade compliance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with cross-departmental collaboration.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
  • Willingness to undergo drug testing and post-offer physical if required.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
