GDM Seeds in Westfield, Indiana is seeking a Tax Analyst to lead U.S. and Canadian tax compliance, reporting, and planning. You will partner with external advisors and the Global Tax team to ensure accurate filings and effective tax strategies across jurisdictions.

This role requires four days onsite per week at our Westfield facility and one remote day per week. Applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Westfield, Indiana and be able to commute reliably.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA, CPA in progress, or Master’s in Taxation preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in tax.
  • Experience with ASC 740, transfer pricing, and R&D credits preferred.
  • Multi-state or cross-border experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of U.S. tax regulations; Canadian tax regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead U.S. and Canadian tax compliance, reporting, and planning.
  • Partner with external advisors and Global Tax team to ensure accurate filings and effective tax strategies across jurisdictions.
  • Prepare tax provisions and filings (ASC 740) and related workpapers.
  • Prepare US 1099 reporting and property tax filings.
  • Support transfer pricing compliance and R&D tax credit documentation.

Job Summary

The Tax Analyst will lead the U.S. and Canadian tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. Partner with external advisors and the Global Tax team to ensure accurate filings, effective tax strategies, and alignment across jurisdictions.

This position requires four days per week onsite at our Westfield, Indiana facility and one remote day per week. Applicants must currently live within a reasonable commuting distance of Westfield, Indiana and be able to reliably commute to the facility. Candidates residing outside the local commuting area should not apply. No relocation assistance will be provided.
Duties/Responsibilities
Tax Advisory & Business Partnership
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external tax advisors and the global tax team
  • Collaborate with external tax partner on federal, state, provincial, local, indirect, and income tax matters
  • Support global tax initiatives and cross‑border matters
  • Identify tax risks and planning opportunities
  • Advise internal stakeholders on tax implications of business decisions
Income Tax & Compliance
  • Support tax provision (ASC 740) and quarterly/annual filings
  • Prepare reconciliations and workpapers required for tax reporting and tax provision processesPartner with Finance & Accounting teams to gather information for tax filings and financial reporting
  • Assist with special tax projects and strategic initiatives as assigned
Indirect Tax (U.S. & Canada)
  • Prepare and file sales/use US taxes and Canadian tax filings
  • Manage multi‑jurisdiction filings
  • Monitor nexus and maintain documentation
  • Ensure compliance with regulations
Transfer Pricing & Tax Credits
  • Support transfer pricing compliance requirements
  • Assist with R&D tax credit calculations and documentation
  • Maintain supporting documentation for all related activities
Audit & Reporting
  • Support tax audits and respond to tax notices
  • Prepare required schedules and documentation
  • Manage US 1099 form reporting
  • Prepare property tax filings
Required Skills/Abilities

Education and Experience
