Job summary

GDM Seeds in Westfield, Indiana is seeking a Tax Analyst to lead U.S. and Canadian tax compliance, reporting, and planning. You will collaborate with external advisors and the Global Tax team to ensure accurate filings and tax strategies.

This role requires at least three years of tax experience, a bachelor's in accounting/finance, and strong Excel skills. The position is four days on-site with one remote day.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA, CPA in progress, or Master’s in Taxation preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive experience in tax.
  • Experience with ASC 740, transfer pricing, and R&D credits preferred.
  • Multi-state or cross-border experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian tax regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Advisory & Business Partnership: Serve as the primary liaison with external tax advisors and the global tax team.
  • Collaborate with external tax partner on federal, state, provincial, local, indirect, and income tax matters.
  • Support global tax initiatives and cross-border matters.
  • Identify tax risks and planning opportunities.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on tax implications of business decisions.
  • Income Tax & Compliance: Support tax provision (ASC 740) and quarterly/annual filings.
  • Prepare reconciliations and workpapers required for tax reporting and tax provision processes.
  • Partner with Finance & Accounting teams to gather information for tax filings and financial reporting.
  • Assist with special tax projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
  • Indirect Tax (U.S. & Canada): Prepare and file sales/use US taxes and Canadian tax filings.
  • Manage multi-jurisdiction filings; monitor nexus and maintain documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Transfer Pricing & Tax Credits: Support transfer pricing compliance requirements and R&D tax credit documentation.
  • Maintain supporting documentation for all related activities.
  • Audit & Reporting: Support tax audits and respond to tax notices; prepare required schedules and documentation.
  • Manage US 1099 form reporting and prepare property tax filings.

Job Summary:

The Tax Analyst will lead the U.S. and Canadian tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. Partner with external advisors and the Global Tax team to ensure accurate filings, effective tax strategies, and alignment across jurisdictions.

This position requires four days per week onsite at our Westfield, Indiana facility and one remote day per week. Applicants must currently live within a reasonable commuting distance of Westfield, Indiana and be able to reliably commute to the facility. Candidates residing outside the local commuting area should not apply. No relocation assistance will be provided.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Tax Advisory & Business Partnership
