NextEra Energy, a leading clean-energy company in Florida, is seeking a Tax Analyst to support state income tax planning and compliance. The role involves preparing returns, researching inquiries, and providing analytical support for tax initiatives, including M&A and legislative monitoring.

Qualified candidates will have 4+ years of corporate income tax experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a team environment. This is a full-time, on-site position in Palm Beach area.

Qualifications

• Prepares and reviews federal/state/local income tax returns, schedules, extensions and payment estimates in line with the company’s tax filing calendar.
• Research inquiries from government agencies regarding filings, compliance, and other claims.
• Prepares tax calculations to support tax controversy analyses.
• Prepare complex unitary and standalone tax returns.
• Identify and execute process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and reviews federal/state/local income tax returns, schedules, extensions & payment estimates in line with the company’s tax filing calendar.
• Conducts financial and economic analyses, developing and preparing the organization’s financial plans and budgets and interpreting financial reports and tax returns.
• Researches inquiries from government agencies regarding filings, compliance, and other claims.
• Prepares tax calculations to support tax controversy analyses.
• Conducts tax assumptions in project models.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
