Job summary

Movement Search & Delivery is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Tax Specialist based in Atlanta, Georgia. This critical role focuses on managing and optimizing tax affairs, ensuring compliance, and identifying opportunities to strengthen the tax position. The ideal candidate will blend strong technical tax knowledge with proactive tax planning and collaboration.

Responsibilities include calculating tax liabilities, preparing accurate tax forms, monitoring compliance with tax regulations, and conducting tax research. A Bachelor's degree in a related field and experience in tax are essential.

Qualifications

  • 1–5 years of relevant tax experience (corporate tax, public accounting, or industry).
  • CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification preferred (or strong progress toward certification).
  • Solid understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Tax Specialist to manage and optimize our company’s tax affairs. This role is critical in ensuring full regulatory compliance, accurate tax reporting, and identifying opportunities to strengthen the company’s overall tax position. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical tax knowledge with a proactive approach to tax planning and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
Tax Recording & Compliance
  • Calculate tax liabilities and prepare accurate tax forms for timely external filing and reporting.
  • Record and maintain tax-specific transactions, including tax journals, capital expenditure tracking, and tax depreciation schedules.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all existing, proposed, and newly enacted tax regulations.
  • Prepare and submit all required tax returns, declarations, and supporting reports on time with a high degree of accuracy.
Tax Research & Planning
  • Conduct in-depth research to evaluate the tax impact of business activities and changing regulations.
  • Identify tax optimization opportunities and recommend strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maintaining compliance.
  • Analyze the tax implications of proposed transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and asset disposals.
  • Partner with external tax consultants, advisors, and government agencies to resolve complex tax matters.
  • Stay current on evolving tax legislation and work closely with external experts to implement best practices.
